Literature reviews

Graduate and graduate students make literature reviews as part of broader work or as an independent article. However, do not confuse this with an essay or thesis. Literature reviews have a special meaning in writing

What is a literature reviews?

The academic essay, article, or thesis is a topic that uses authoritative sources to back up this argument. Literature is a study, analysis and criticism of these sources. This may be embedded in the paper or the relevant parts of the review may be presented in the relevant sections of the document

Why do a literature reviews?

The grounds for studying literature reviews include:

  • To improve your own understanding
  • Refresh the reader in the current views of the topic. Those who criticize your results, or who are interested in your research, should have enough contextual data to follow your theories
  • To show breaks in existing conclusions. At the minimum level of knowledge of the subject, or at all, students in higher education programs have a chance to fill the gap with sound, well studied material

    • The overview is not essay. He won’t

  • Suggest or develop substantive paragraphs. This is done in the document that it supports
  • Arrange the subject. He presents the findings, compares the different fields of vision on the topic and suggests further studies
  • Just summarize the list of sources

    When reviewing literature for academic paper, broad or narrow themes lead to too much or too little input. The first step, therefore, is to ensure that the theme of the study is appropriate

    Strong paper is supported by authoritative, verifiable sources. This means that school textbooks and most of the online content are a weak basis for your work. They contain a wide range of information and there is little or no academic evaluation. Find a lot of literature at:

  • Scientific databases
  • Reports and studies of the Government and respected bodies
  • University libraries
  • Empirical research
  • Your scientific adviser’s proposed testimony

    • Examine the sources specified by the authors in their own reports. This will allow you to get more information about your theme

    Select the material to include

    The types of literature reviews shows that the studies conducted are correct. The source material must:

  • Set up all the important areas of your theme
  • Identification of gaps in existing studies
  • Specify areas where research is missing
  • Reconsider the need to update the current studies

    • Due to the amount of information and time limits and deadlines, you should be able to find the relevant data effectively. Scan and scan texts for materials that support your work. Use keywords searching in electronic databases. As information is cumulative, thoughts and reactions and critical findings should be systematically noted. Do not forget to record the necessary information to fully quote the facts and quotations used in your document

    Organization of the review of literature

    The review follows the introduction, body and structure of the opinion. There are several ways to organize a comment on a collection of sources. The most popular systems are chronological and relevant. A chronological organization presents an analysis of the oldest of the most recent studies. A topopian organization groups finds on topics or common issues that they relate to. You can also organize work in order of importance. Regardless of which system you select, ensure that:

  • The system of the organization is obvious
  • The headings and paragraphs make a distinction
  • The relationship between the review and the subject you are studying is obvious
  • Key research will be highlighted
  • Transition words and summaries indicate the progress of a single study or study group

    • Writing an overview of literature

    Before recording, collect the relevant data that has been analyzed, criticized, get acquainted with the types of literature reviews. To form the basis of your research paper, the review should cover all relevant angles that lead to your work. Refine the contents (if necessary) to produce a comprehensive and rigorous report that would fill the research that you have conducted. It should:

  • Show me that you have a clear idea of your subject
  • Report all major aspects of the topic
  • Check out the types of literature reviews
  • Explain the key terminology
  • Critical study and their presentation
  • Opportunities for future research

    • It’s easy to lose focus because of the abundance of information available. The lack of clarity on the central theme would be a matter of view, and if the objectives were not clear, the results could not be succinct. Therefore, critical thinking and questions, such as boolean logic, should be used to stay on the right path
